RosterTooltip

From the project page:

This small addon adds a mouse over tooltip to the guild roster with all the relevant details pertaining to that player.
Information it displays is:

• Rank
• Zone
• Class
• Last Online
• Public Note
• Officers Note (Provided you have Access)
• Main's Name
• Alt's Names

Alts and Mains are managed by the Library "LibAlts-1.0". At this time there is no method with in the addon to setup Alt/Main associations, It is recommended you use a chat addon such as Prat to manage this.
All names are class coloured as determined by the default Raid Class Colours or by custom as defined by Class Colors.

A Story:
This addon came about when I was helping reform the guild I was in. The need came down to view and edit the guild notes of the people joining and to keep the Main / Alt association cohesive (putting main/alts in the notes so that addons like Prat could import this info) as well as the professions and spec for each member of the guild.

While doing so I found myself needing an At-A-Glance view of the various details of the guild roster, namely the Public and Officer notes, to review for correctness.

Initially it worked great, it did exactly that, showed all the details available from the guild roster for the member you had moused over. That way you can edit one member and review another member details with out closing out of editing notes or Guild Control view.

Later on the need was made to know who the main was and who their alts where, thus LibAlts provided that in conjunction with Prat managing the LibAlts database.

-Provide a method to store data from LibAlts.
-Provide a front end for LibAlts to separately manage the association with out the need of another addon.

update: v1.1 has a new interface for libAlts to manage / view main-alt relationships. Tho all the options may be re implemented as aceConfig later.

How are you storing the alt data? Just part of RosterTooltip's SVs?

actually im not saving it at all yet, to be added eventually.

Have you given any thought to giving more control over exactly what is shown in the tooltip and the way in which it is presented? For example, my tooltip addon already displays guild ranks, so showing it with RosterTooltip is redundant. I would also like to format the information to match the layout of the rest of the stuff in my tooltip.

you can turn off showing anything in the tooltip via option in the blizzard window. As for matching the rest of your tooltip, no, bit to complicated.

Yes, I know about the two options in the interface menu. I would like to show the information, but I want more control over it. For example, I can't disable showing the rank without disabling the other information. An option to at least change the colors would be nice as well. However, I can just modify my local copy if this is out of the scope of what you want to do with the addon.

correct they are tied to each other. However that was under the old options menu, that was created by hand. In the latest alpha i've switched to a ace3options and it's much easier to handle now, so more options on the way.
