I couldn't find an authoritative summary of which buffs and debuffs are in each of the new exclusive categories, so I pulled together a few partial overviews from the community and built this list. If anyone has any updates or corrections, I'd be much obliged.

You should probably also include Jinx: Curse of the Elements (1/2 Jinx) and/or Jinx: Curse of the Elements (2/2 Jinx).
They both provide the same effect, but with 1 talent point, the range is 20 yards, and with 2 talent points, the range is 40 yards. The spell ID, however, is different in each case. |

In petopias hunter forums a pretty decent list has been made. Used first to check what pets to use, but has grown to include all buffs/debuffs available in game.

Awesome, thank you Phanx. Did you just know these offhand, or are you consulting some resource I should keep an eye on?
I'm not worrying about different ranks or varieties of polymorph, because even though I store them as SpellIDs for localization purposes, the actual comparison is by name in the end, and each rank/polymorph has the same name anyway. Same with the druid/pet Roar I suppose, but I'll add both just in case. The taunted category is a good idea, I'll add those. I do have categories for various CCs (stun, fear, incapacitate, disorient, root, slow) that I didn't include here, because none of those seem to have changed. |

I'd gone through all of the class abilities/talents on wowhead, picking out the relevant ones for my oUF layout's aura filters. As for CC, while having them categorized is probably helpful for PvP, it's not really useful in a raid environment where you just want to know if something is crowd-controlled by some means or another.

Maybe you should separate the taunts based on their actual effect, one being a real "Taunt" and one being a "Challenging Shout" type effect.
Taunts force enemys to attack you as well as bump you to the threat value of the current person with aggro, Challenging Shouts just force the enemy to attack you for a short while. I hope these effects haven't changed in 4.0
