Hi..been having a problem lately with the new feature that leaves 1 regular bag space open. I have the mail set to open at the fastest possible speed. I think maybe it opens so fast that the addon doesn't have time to check how many bag spaces are left? Often it prints out the message that it is trying to leave one open but then I get the red "Inventory Full" and indeed, my inventory is completely full instead of leaving one space open. This does not happen 100% of the time, but it is very frequent. I love this feature and hope you can get it to work more reliably.

This cannot be fixed as it is latency server-client based. Your solutions are:

A) Slow down your opening speed.
B) Or, choose to have Postal leave 2 regular bag spaces open rather than 1. Your fast opening speed will usually just leave 1 bag space left rather than 2.

If I were to fix this in code instead, your opening speed will be forced to the server-client model which means your opening speed will be about half or 1/3 of your current speed as the addon will be forced to wait for your inventory to change before attempting to open the next mail, as opposed to chain-opening them.


Edit: However, I suppose I could slow down the opening speed once you are near the "bag space open" setting... Hmmm.

If you're fine-tuning the "leave a bag space" open feature,
could you take a look at another little problem

Specifically it the difference between specialty bags and regular bags.

One of my toons is a gatherer (mining / skinning) and has a leatherworking bag and a mining bag equipped.

Postal will not loot mails with ore or skins (as only items) when the regular
bags are near full, despite the specialty bags are empty.

That's going to be somewhat problematic to fix. Set the number of spaces to 0 to restore it to previous behavior for now.

I've created a Profile that all of my alts use.
When I add a contact on one server, that contact is showing on all servers.
Technically it would be possible for me to send an e-mail to the wrong character.
Also, horde contacts are showing on my alliance toons.

I'm going to fix this by creating Server/Faction specific profiles but that is going to be a lot of work.

I noticed in the savedvariables file that alts have the server and faction saved with them. Would be nice if contacts did that also.

I thought a bit more about this, and think this isn't really necessarily a bug. Your characters on the same faction/server might want to share a profile and they should also see the same contact list that either character can modify.

Still, I'll think a bit more on this.

I'm having an issue with Open All and mails with multiple attachments. It will grab one attachment and then usually stop. I end up having to hit Open All multiple times to fully clear out the Inbox.

This is usually due to server-client issues with the mail server of your server. I've noticed that the first time you open the mailbox since logging on, it lags a lot.

This happen to me a lot on my AH toon because it receive a lot of mails from all my other toons. I often CTRL-Click for a particular toon and have to do it multiple times because some of the mail with multiple attachments will not be processed completely.

Server lag or "load lag" doesn't appear to be a factor. It can happen right after I log or 30 minutes later.

Did this start occurring after the last Postal update, or has it always been a problem? The mail opening code hasn't changed since the rewrite for multiple mail attachments in patch 2.1.

Basically, "if its not broken, don't fix it", I have not modified the Select or OpenAll code for years, and the only changes to it are just the Free Bag Space one, and the additional neutral AH filtering.

I don't remember exactly when I notice this but it date from way back, it's a not a recent occurrence at all. It's more of an annoyance then anything else and that's why I never bother reporting it. Also, a lot of addons read the mailbox so I though it might have been a side effect from Beancounter or Possession or something else but never had the time to really test it with only Postal loaded.

I'll try to pay more attention to it in the coming weeks.
