Would someone be so kind as to make the following Ace mod:
Right click player name in chat box -> Click on "Quicklink" -> Switch to your web browser window -> Paste the Armory link that this mod created for you into the address bar. One scenario: "LFM for ZA, need heals" "I'll go!" (Instead of responding with "What's your healing at?" or "stats nub" you can just get a link to their Armory profile and decide from there.) This addon would either need to automatically know what realm you're on or need a preference GUI to enable that. I would want the link to go DIRECTLY to the person's page; no weeding through other similar names on different realms. I would make this addon myself, but I'm clueless with scripting. Thanks. Edit: I'm looking for simply a mod to create a link that would be stored in a clipboard. I do not need the mod to open a web browser too, which is impossible anyway. |

P.S. I have already created a Firefox bookmark to do this, but an in-game Ace mod would be cool too:
Name: WoW Armory Location: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...%27Thuzad&n=%s Keyword: a So typing the following would send me directly to the player's page: a playername |

As far as I know, WoW.exe can not and does not allow interaction with other executables. So what you would like to see someone do, is impossible. The reason wow doesn't allow interaction with executables other then those made by blizzard, is to avoid giving bots a very easy time.

you could however pop open an editbox with the link then you just need to copy/paste it into your browser

Just to be clear: I don't want a mod that will auto-open a browser. I just want it to create a link for me to paste into a browser.

The ccp part is actually a feature that is easily implemented, heck I recall seeing it somewhere in the default bliz interface (opening a frame popup with the link ready to copy). Copy Paste features are not opening an executable, hence it can easily work in wow. Quote:

Ok, here's a quickie.
Attached below. Note: it's completely Ace-free so not exactly built to order. US and EU realms supported only. Other locales are easy enough to add but I'd need some info about a couple entries in config.wtf and the corresponding base Url of the armory for those locales. |
