winamp track information display

I was browsing, and didnt see anything that could display the currently playing track for a media player in wow. Does such a thing exist, or is there a reason why it cant?

i wouldn't attempt anything like this..

any way u do it you'd have to have wow and win amp interact API lvl, and that's always a read flag..

easier way IMHO, find a win amp plug in that puts that info into the clipboard and then paste it into wow

everything in that direction is forbidden by blizzard. they don't want anything that can automaticly get realtime information into or out of wow because something like that could be used for botting.

If you don't _have_ to have Winamp, take a look at some ingame mp3 players
that have the ability to display track information or even output to your party/friends.

Eg. WankooMP3

the only problem with that is i dont think it could handle a 25gb list of music, and id really like it to be easily navigable with my media buttons on my keyboard.

if it wont plugin to wow, than maybe ill check if there is an overlay for it, like teamspeak overlay.

Some Winamp skins have "notifiers" that pop up on song change to tell you the new title. If that's not what you want, you could do what I do: set Winamp to Always On Top and uncheck the box in preferences to "Disable always on top while fullscreen applications are focused." Works fine for me (playing WoW in windowed + maximized mode), although I did have to switch skins to something darker that blends in better with the game.

buy a logitech g15, with the display and the right winamp plugin you can even surf the playlist while playing

I wish i could afford a new keyboard, maybe one of these days. Ill see what options i have to pop up the mini player over a fullscreen app.

i think you can make winamp to a small bar that is always ontop and then you could set wow to fullscreen window mode.. so you can always see winamp and it don't take much space
